The Invasion of Ossus

Not far from the geosynchronous orbit of Ossus, a large Sith fleet appeared and immediately engaged local patrol ships and space stations. Catching the system off-guard with this deadly suprise attack.

Ossus was ill-prepared for an attack of suck magnitude, having never seen space warfare before. Within minutes of arriving in-system, The Sith fleet had destroyed the small scout ships and a space station serving as a base of operations before the planet could be warned.

However, the Jedi on the planet felt the coming darkness and immediately prepared themselves. Trying to warn as many as possible and setup defenses. They had initiated a planet-wide alarm system. Sirens hollered across the populated areas


Darth Galaticus was aboard his flagship, Genesis, commanding the fleet and the eventual landing on Ossus. "Begin phase two of the operation." said Darth Galaticus while inside a large Mission Operations Center aboard his ship. Several entire squadrons of bombers then proceeded to leave the hangar, following the fighters down to the planet surface. Initiating bombing runs of heavily civilized areas.

"Phase three will commence shortly, have the transports land at their pre-determined dropzones and begin offloading troops after the bombings have ceased. Most of the temple should be heavily damaged by this time and I will land their and personally see the destruction of its inhabiting Jedi. I will then determine when Phase three is over and execution of Phase four will begin." Darth Galaticus said in a commanding tone, making his way towards the exit, towards the hangar bay.

On the surface below, the sith bombers began their runs, attacking heavily populated areas and key infastructure. Other squadrons are enroute to security bases and the Jedi Temple.........

Kori was still on the steps of the Jedi Temple when he received the message from his Captain.

"Lieutenant, get your ass back on this ship! We have a hostile fleet in orbit, they've destroyed several ships already! Scanners are detecting single-ships on approach. Get out of there now! That's an order!" Lucas yelled through the commlink.

"Yes sir!" Kori replied. He looked at the three Jedi next to him. "Are you coming or are you staying?"

Athena looked at Kin. "We should leave."

"No, we should fight!" Kin barked back.

Athena grabbed Kin and pointed to the sky which was starting to fill with the hazy appearance of bombers on the horizon. "Look at that! They mean to wipe us out! There won't be a fight! We have to get back to Coruscant and tell the Council what has transpired before it's too late!"

Kin look at then the sky, his face was grim. A Jedi Master ran down the stairs. "Kin, listen to your fellow knight, I fear this fleet will wipe us out. Please leave!"

Kin looked at the master and shook his head. "Very well. At least bring us some of the younglings!"

The Master nodded. "Give me two minutes!"

Kori shook his head. "No, we have to leave now!"

Athena grabbed Kori's arm as he started to turn. "Please wait."

Kori clenched his jaw. "The Captain won't like this."

He pulled his arm out of her grip. He stood tall and looked up the stairs. Athena looked into his eyes, pleading with him. He nodded and pulled out the blaster strapped to his thigh.

Kin smirked. "You think that's going to do any good?"

"If they get close enough to shoot me I'll be close enough to shoot them," Kori replied. He looked down the stairs feeling a sudden urge to start running. The Master returned shortly with a handful of younglings. "This is all I could muster on a short notice. Here, take these!"

He handed Athena a bag of scrolls and holocrons. "We will make sure they are safe Master," she stated taking the bag from him. "Hurry younglings, follow me."

"May the Force be with you," Kin said to the Master as he backed down the stairs.

"May the Force be with us all," the Master replied melodramatically.

"Take us to your ship," Kin ordered. Kori nodded and started running down the stairs to the frigate.

"Captain, I'm on my way with a few hands," Kori yelled into his commlink.

"Damn it Lieutenant!" Lucas yelled back. He clearly didn't want Jedi on board. "Get on as quick as you can. We're ready to take off. The Respondent is coming around the dark side of the planet as we speak. We're going to link up with her."

"Aye sir!" Kori replied. It took them only a few minutes to run to the outskirts where the ship was parked. Kori led the way jumping on board. "Let's go!"

He ushered the Jedi on board the ship with a few of the enlisted crewmen near the airlock. Kori moved over to the comm. "Captain, we're on board!"

"About damn time, bombers are minutes away!" Lucas barked back. "Take off helmsman!"

Kori felt the ship jerk as it lifted off the ground. The crewmen closed the airlock as the ship gained altitude. Kori ran to the bridge. The Captain was there waiting for the ship to break atmosphere.

"Get gunners on all our point defense cannons. Shields up, let's see what we can do," Lucas stated.

"Sir, we have a Republic cruiser appearing on our scopes! Coming from the dark side of the planet." said a young lieutenant.

The Commander aboard the flagship, Genesis said, "Have The Thresher and The Eviscerator move to intercept, jam their communications and then destroy them. Phase three is about commence. Lord Galaticus and the other Sith Lords are enroute to the planet surface."

On the surface, The Triumphent was taking off, ready to head into orbit. Several fighters, escorts for the bombers, shot at the ship taking off. The shields rippled byt the impact of several attack fighters who were drawn off by the ship's laser defenses. In the distance, bombers were seen decimated the landscape. Several bombers passed under the Republic frigate as it was rising into the atmosphere, they had begun bombing runs on the massive Jedi Temple complex.

Darth Galaticus's transport and another were to land at the Jedi Temple, dozens of other transports began to ferry Sith warriors and troopers into the cities. Once the bombings had passed, they were to slaughter civilians, local security forces, and any Jedi that stood in their way.

The Dark Lord of the Sith landed at the base of the Jedi Temple. As both transports landed, dozens of Sith Warriors and troopers made their way into the temple, the complex was seen burning in the background, structures collapsed, smoke billowing into the skies. On the Horizon, you could see flickering lights indicating that the bombings were continuing. Innocents were dying by the millions as the Sith showed there foes no mercy. Fear, sadness, destruction, and death had drenched the planet.

"Spread out but stay in your alotted groups! Make your enemies bleed! Show them what it means to be a Sith! If you aren't at the rendevous point ten minutes after I give the signal, you will be left behind!" Darth Galaticus said in a thunderous tone, leading his soldiers and minions into battle.....

Kori felt the ship vibrate as the Sith fighters strafed the Triumphant.

"Get the the point defense cannons to fire on those starfighters!" Yelled Lucas to the weapons station. He looked at Kori. "Lieutenant, get to your station!"

"Sir," Kori replied moving to his section of the bridge near the weapons station and damage control. He had to oversee the operations to make sure the Captain could command the ship. "Keep up the fire," he told the officers manning their stations.

"Get a message to the Respondent! I want them to join us for a counter-strike!" Lucas ordered.

"Sir! The Respondent has gone dark, we can't get a message from them!" The communications officer replied.

"What?" Lucas replied stunned.

"They must be jamming our communications with the frigate," Kori yelled to the Captain.

"This enemy is much more prepared than your average rebel," Lucas pondered. "Let's see how strong they are!"

"Captain, I would recommend against that, we're outnumbered and outgunned, it would be suicide!" Kori protested.

"Lieutenant you will keep that mouth closed or you will be removed from this bridge!" Lucas snapped.

Kori clenched his jaw. "Sir," he rolled his eyes. "Reroute power to the shields."

The Triumphant broke atmosphere and trailed behind the Respondent. Two large ships moved forward towards the small frigate. The Respondent opened fire on the two ships firing its forward turbolaser batteries. The turbolasers hit the shields of the Thresher splashing harmlessly over them draining their strength.

"Fire all weapons on that other ship!" Lucas yelled.

"Focus fire on the weakest part of the ship," Kori specified. "Fire the mass driver and all missiles at what appears to be the bridge of the ship!"

"Aye," replied the weapons officer. Turbolasers volleyed at the second ship while missiles launched from their bays. A thud resounded through the ship seconds later as the mass driver fired it's massive slug at several kilometers a second. The turbolasers landed on the Eviscerator hitting it's shields. The volleys continuously splashing against them before the mass driver slug and the missiles stuck the ship at the same time near what appeared to be the "bridge" of the enemy vessel.

The two ships volleyed on the smaller frigate. Their opening volleys tore through the shields of the Respondent dropping them to critical levels as it continued to fire back.

"Full shield power forward," Kori ordered. "Let's hope our shields are stronger!"

"Sir the Respondent is launching fighters!" Yelled Operations.

"We should too! Order all fighters to launch!" Lucas ordered. Kori looked around the chaos of the bridge as the Republic ships traded fire with their unknown enemy. Kori looked at the sensor station to see two dozen interceptors moving to attack enemy fighters harassing the Republic ships as well as strafe the larger capital ships.

"Sir! Several interceptors have arrived on our scopes. The Tresher and The Eviscerator have taken considerable damage to their shields." said the lieutenant.

"Bring the fleet towards the Frigates and engage immediately, redploy the fighters back to space. Once we are in range, redirect all weapons power to the Ion Cannons and the Turbo lasers. We will support The Tresher's and Eviscerator's posistions." said the Commander in his professional accent.

On the surface below, dozens of Sith Lord's engaged the Jedi at the temple. But it was a slaughter. Darth Galaticus, Dark Lord of the Sith, cut down and destroyed every Jedi that dared stand in his way. Ossus housed Jedi of Knowledge and Harmony, not Jedi of war and battle. The bombers continued to decimate the far side of the complex as Lord Galaticus, with his Sith and Troopers, continued their onslaught against the Jedi in the temple. Chaos escalated as the Sith continued to push along their positions.

Darth Galaticus tortured and killed his victims. Elders, younglings, all innocent and destroyed hatefully by the ruthless Sith Lord. His minions executed the poor souls in cold blood with small losses to the Sith.

In space, the Sith fleet and several fighter squadrons arrive to reinforce the Tresher and the Eviscerator, as both the two Sith Cruisers and Republic frigates had their shields dangerously low after their constant engagement.

The Commander then said from the flagship, "All cruisers, open fire! Burn their wretched bodies!"............

The Triumphant rocked violently as a volley of turbolasers struck the bow of the ship. Kori watched as shield strength dropped. This was a battle they were not going to win. Kori watched the sensors as dozens of more ships moved to engage. The Respondent's shields were almost gone and the Triumphant was not doing much better. The only comfort to Kori was that the enemy ships were not doing well either having sustained significant damage to their shields. The ship shook as another volley struck it on it's starboard side.

"Sir! Enemy ships have moved into firing range! They're firing!" Reported Operations.

"Evasive manuevers!" The Captain yelled in response.

"Sir, the Respondent is moving in front of us!" Shouted the helmsman.

"They're moving to take our shots!" Forester remarked surprised. "Presenting their entire side to the enemy. Sir, we should use this opportunity to retreat!"

"Stow it Lieutenant! I will claim one of those ships for the Republic!" The Captain yelled. Kori glanced at the first officer who had a look of horror on his face. He knew the end was near. Kori swore to himself. The Respondent's sacrifice was blocking the Triumphant from firing back. Kori watched helplessly as the enemy volley collided with the Respondent, its shields flared for a second as the last dispersed the massive amount of energy. The rest of the volley collided with the frigate disintegrating its entire port side with several shots puncturing its starboard side. However, the frigate could not block the entire volley. The rest of the fire flew past the smaller frigate and collided with the Triumphant. The frigate shook violently as its shields failed and explosions moved up and down its bow. On the bridge an explosion ripped through the center from the ceiling sending Kori and most of the bridge crew flying to the ground.

"Fierfak!" Kori yelled getting up. There was a cut on his forehead that was bleeding profusely. He put a hand to stem the bleeding looking around the disorganized bridge. He didn't see the Captain or the first officer anywhere. "DAMAGE REPORT!" He yelled.

"Significant damage to the bow! Bow shields are gone, shield generators are overloaded!" Yelled back the Damage Control Officer. "Fires in sections A, B, C, D, and E on decks four through six!"

"Sir, the Captain and First Officer are both dead!" Yelled the Engineering Officer who stood over their dead bodies. Kori's head was spinning. He was now in command. He snapped to quickly and started issuing orders.

"Seal off the damaged areas and vent the atmo, we have to stop the fires!" Kori ordered.

"Sir, we have signs of three escape pods from the Respondent!" Yelled Operations.

"Is the tractor beam operational?" Kori asked.

"Yes sir!"

"Pull them in! Then turn tail and run! Divert all power to shields and engines. We need to get out of here now!" Kori yelled. The ship rocked back and forth as more shots punctured the bow.

"Fires are out!" Reported the DC. "We're estimating ninety-six hands lost."

"Use our rear cannons to fire back as we bug out," Kori ordered sitting down in the Captain's chair. "If there are any interceptors left have them cover our retreat, if they can make it back before we jump make sure we do so."

The frigate turned slowly as its maneuvering thrusters had been damaged. "Escape pods on board!" Announced Operations.

"Good, full power to engines! Get us the hell out of here!" Kori ordered.

The staff of the Triumphant responded quickly issuing orders as the frigate fueled its engines to full and exploded away from the planet and the Sith Fleet.

"Navigation, plot a course to Coruscant, I want to know the second we can jump!" Kori ordered. Their survival hinged on how fast they could retreat. This wasn't a battle, this was a massacre.

The Sith fleet decimated the Respondent. Its debris hovering in orbit or falling to the planetsurface below. The two dozen interceptors that were sent to engage the fighters were decimated and utterly destroyed by the ominous Sith fleet. However, the last Republic frigate blasted into hyperspace away from Ossus.

"Damn it!" said the Commander as he watched the frigate go into Hyperspace.

"Sir, we've recorded a Victory. A lone Republic frigate means nothing against the Sith Fleet." said the lieutenant as he stood next to the Commander.

'You're right son. I just never like seeing the enemy get away." replied the Commander. "I bet Lord Galaticus has everything under control down there.

Back on the planet surface.....

"No, please, let me go. I want to live!" said a crying yougling being held in the air through the force. A youngling Jedi, innocence and good represented in its youngest and greatest form, the mind of a child.

"Your time is at an end little one!" said Darth Galaticus as he began crushing the younglings neck. The child began choking, trying to scream, gasping for air, but it was in vain. You could visibly watch as his neck was getting skinnier, being slowly and inhumanely crushed by the ruthless Lord. Then, with a sudden crack, his neck shattered and the lifeless little boy was thrown to the ground, blood slowly oozing from his mouth.

"Noooo!" yelled a nearby Jedi Knight who just saw Galaticus kill the young boy. He lunged his lightsaber at Galaticus who quickly blocked. They stared into each other's eyes only for Galaticus to push off with great strength, sending his Jedi opponent back and swiftly hurled a roundhouse kick, amplified by the force, towards his opponents face who was knocked far by the powerful force. On the ground, slowly getting up, Darth Galaticus lifted the Knight was threw him into the wall, cracking the wall. Galaticus then reached out with his hands and grabbed the wall and the ceiling. By shoving his hands downward, he caused the entire wall and a section of the ceiling to collapse upon the Jedi.

"AHHHHHHH............." as his scream was met with silence after being crushed by tons of rubble and debris. The Dark Lord smiled as he looked on into the main hallway, Sith slaughtering dozens of Jedi.

Across the main populated areas, troopers and Sith Warriors killed those who remained alive after the bombings. The remaining bombers who hadn't run out of their bombs began to bomb any spaceport or landing platform that was capable of sending large evacuations away from Ossus. The Sith sought to make their victory at Ossus complete.

As the last of the Jedi in the Jedi Temple complex were killed, Darth Galaticus signaled his and the other transport that dropped them off at complex.

"Everyone back to the ships. We are going to begin Phase Four whether you are here or not!" Darth Galaticus yelled into his his tac/net pad. y pressing several buttons, he signaled to the fleet in orbit that Phase Four would soon begin.

Across the planet surface, transports began to pick up platoons of troopers and accompanying Sith warriors. The same at the Temple as Darth Galaticus and his Sith were picked up and brought back to the fleet.

Minutes later, Darth Galaticus stormed onto the bridge of the flagship.

"Mi'lord, we are all accounted for minus the losses we've sustained on the surface." said the Commander as the Dark Lord walked in.

"Excellent Commander, initiate Phase IV. Leave nothing alive on the planet until it's surface is but glass!" said the Dark Lord in an angry tone, clenching his fist.

"Understood sir." replied the Commander........

High above, in the skies of Ossus, the Sith fleet began their orbital positions to begin bombardment of the planet surface. After small calculations and movements of the ships had ceased, they were now in position.

'We ready ready to fire on your command Lord Galaticus." said the Commander, standing at ease behind the Dark Lord.

"Fire at will Commander." said Darth Galaticus, looking upon the planet surface. Once he spoke those words, he saw a massive barrage rain down not only from his ship but other ships in the fleet.

Orbital Bombardment and glassing of the planet had commenced. On the surface below, in the major population centers. Those who survived both the bombings and the Sith warriors and troopers were now at the mercy of massive turbo lasers raining down from the sky created massive carnage. People, citizens were crying, running for their lives in this horrible scene of sadness and death. Families torn apart by the incoming lasers. No where to run, no where to hide...... only suffering as millions of souls began to perish from the Sith onslaught and cruelty.

Darth Galaticus smiled, his arms crossed, as he witnessed the death of Ossus. Millions died at his whim. The glassing of Ossus would take hours.......

....Hours later.....

The Dark Lord gazed down at his destruction. From high above the surface in orbit, you could see the the scorched land. The fires could been seen from space, dotting across a significant portion of the landscape. Any and all population centers were decimated by the Sith. The destruction of Ossus was complete. Millions upon millions of lives lost, becoming one with the Force.

It would be several years before Ossus could become fully habitable again.

The Commander walked up and stood beside Lord Galaticus, "Sir, scans have indicate that the planet is devoid of sentient life."

"I know Commander." replied Darth Galaticus, unphased. With a temporary pause, he spoke again.

"This is how we will acheive our victory, Commander Walkoor. Showing the enemy how ruthless and brutal we are. That we do not stop until every single enemy is destroyed."

He looked at the Commander and then pointed to the burning planet, "This is why the galaxy will fear the Sith!"

The glassing had ceased. The ships above Ossus began to regroup, all from various parts of its orbit.

"Bring us back to Korriban Commander. We must prepare our forces for war!" said Darth Galaticus.

Not much longer later, the Sith Fleet blasted en masse in hyperspace........
