The Battle of Mon Calamari

The blue planet was calm. The shipyards in orbit were quietly building a multitube of ships for the Republic and other factions via contracts.

Just outside the killzone of the local defense force, a massive Sith Fleet arrived, twice the size of the fleet that destroyed Ossus comprised of only Capital Ships and the Flagship. Immediately, the Capital ships engaged the local defense force's cruisers and capital ships. Both forces were nearly evenly matched, The Sith Fleet composed of large warships and full fighter capacities while the Local Republic fleet and defense force comprised mainly of smaller cruisers and frigates but were in the dozens.

Darth Galaticus then shouted, "Begin Phase One! Jam their communications and deploy the boarding parties escorted by their designated squadrons. Focus your attack upon the larger cruisers. The quicker they are destroyed, the less we have to worry about losing our own ships. Burn every last ship from this system!"

Several dozen boarding craft were seen departing the various ships as their protecting fighters kept enemy fighters and turrets at bay. Only a handful of boarding crafts were destroyed as they docked with the Orbital Construction facilities. Each boarding craft had one Sith Warrior with a company of combat troops.

In orbit above the planet, Republic and local security forces engaged the Sith Fleet, shields were depleting of various cruisers while hundreds of fighters on both sides fell.

In the Orbital Construction facilities, The Sith and the troopers fought furiously to secure each facility. The first orbital facility had become secured by Sith forces, they began using it's own defenses against nearby enemy forces, destroying multiple fighters and, with the aid of the Sith fleet, destroyed two cruisers closest to the facility....

The Battle was dragging on..... but the Sith endured.......

"Fire upon sectors 6 and 7. Those appear to be structural weaknesses and should aid the capital ships." said a Sith Fighter Pilot Wing Leader as his wing of fighters began to decimate structurally weak points of a Republic cruiser.

"They have left a gap in their fleet! Squadrons Delta, Golf, Lima, and Whiskey, support the Genesis as we move in to exploit this weakness!" shouted the Commander of the Genesis over his tac/comm. Immediately, the large flagship of the fleet moved in and seperated the enemy fleet, fighter squadrons reinforced it position and aided in the destruction of nearby frigates and cruisers.

"Arrggghh!!!!" yelled a Sith Warrior as he struck down a Republic officer aboard an Orbital Construction Facility. "Move up to the higher floors! You two, follow me. We are going to repurpose the automated defenses to target Republic forces!"

"Sir, we've secured the last Construction facility." a young leiutenant said to the Dark Lord.

"Excellent!' said Darth Galaticus, sensing somethin elsewhere, "Accelerate plans for Phase II. Any ship not directly engaged with enemy forces, have them advance to Phase II."

Outlying ships who weren't directly engaged with the enemy slowly broke away from the main fleet and took various orbital positions above the planet. Any of the Republic fleet or local forces that tried to attack the leaving ships were forced to engaged the main fleet.

As the last of the enemy fleet was being destroyed, the Sith had only lost 1 Capital ship in the battle, a decoy that was used to attract the bulk of enemy fire anyway......

The last of the local defense force had been destroyed. Debris hung in orbit, scattered. Up close, you could see the lifeless bodies drifting in empty space, sucked out into the great vacuum.

The Sith fleet then began to take multiple orbital positions above the planet. Aboard the orbital construction facilities, those onboard had claimed their prize and sought to use its current construction projects against the planet below.

Darth Galaticus stood aboard the bridge of his flagship. The Commander walked up to him and said, "Sir, we are in position."

"Excellent! Begin Phase II. Boil their oceans until none of them are left alive! Once the teams aboard the Construction facilities are ready, have them drop their unbuilt ships onto any floating city there is! We shall wipe the Mon Calamari and Quarren species from the face of this Galaxy. Their culture will be nothing! Their species will be nothing. The Galaxy will soon learn that all is unstoppable before the Sith! Any who oppose us shall die, their history and legacy will be destroyed and their name forgotten!"

The Dark Lord turned and proceeded towards his private chambers, speaking as he left the room, "Be quick about it Commander and alert me when Phase II is complete. I sense we may not be alone here forever."

"As you wish my Lord." said the Commander as the doors closed behind Darth Galaticus. He turned and said, "All cruisers open fire!"

In unison, the entire fleet began to fire upon the oceans. Raising the temperatures of the oceans would take considerable time but even low levels of increase would kill off millions.........

Several hours had passed and the global ocean temperature had risen four degrees.

The floating cities were in ruins, marred with the debris from construction projects in orbit send down to wreak all havoc. Lifeforms underneath the waters began to push towards whatever land they could find to avoid the overheating of their waters. They fought each other, struggling for tiny plots of land from which they could stand upon to avoid the heating waters. All their efforts were in vain however, as bombing squadrons routinely struck these small islands, wiping out all those who sought refuge on them.

It was genocide, terror had elevated to new forms as the Mon Calamari, Quarrens, and other lifeforms continued their delay of what they all knew to be the envitable. The Sith would stop at nothing to destroy all life on this planet, simply to prove a point to the rest of the Galaxy. It was disgusting and terrible.

Several degrees higher would prove fatal for the oceanic base life of the planet. The biology of the planet wouldn't bee handle to survive a rapid increase of tempertature so quickly, even for the durable Mon Calamari and Quarrens. The Sith continued their onslaught, Darth Sidus stood in the Mission Operations Center.

"Sir, the message has been uploaded to the holonet. We've ensured that it will appear on every media outlet site across the galaxy in its intended languages." said an advisor as he walked up next to Darth Sidus.

"Then it is done. We shall wait while this Galaxy tears itself apart." smiled Darth Sidus......


Transmission........

"Darkness fills the galaxy. Chaos and Disorder. We will control and correct these. We are the off-spring of the Jedi, whom are the true bringers of injustice in the galaxy.

If this galaxy doesn't want to see another massacre like Ossus or Mon Calamari take place ever again, they will cast out and strike down the Jedi. Otherwise, more worlds will suffer their devastating fate.

We, The Sith, will assume their place."

Darth Galaticus sat in his private chambers, center floor. The cryptic message revealing to the Galaxy who they were was released across the Holonet. He could already sense the growing fear, anger, and hatred. He felt the destruction of Ossus and Mon Calamari ripple across the Galaxy as a wave of darkness and despair.

He also felt the death from the planet below, life struggling to escape their coming devastation. He knew the planet was almost lifeless. It's waters getting hotter by the second.

"Peer into their eyes, into their soul. Look upon them with your warrior eyes, feeling their fear within which will ensure your victory...."

Darth Galaticus recalled the words of his former master. He stood up, relieving himself from his meditations. He made his way towards the bridge.


The orbital bombardment continued for hours. Pain, suffering, and death swept over the planet below. By then, roughly 80 percent of the planet's population was wiped out. Only the hardiest of biology managed to survive so far. Their time would come.........

Out of hyperspace, a Sith occupation fleet composed of several colony ships, multiple frigates, and battleships arrived. Their purpose was to establish basic infastructure and provide security from a retaliation fleet. The world was theirs now, and they dare not let their prized captured of Orbital Construction platforms go to waste. Even as the bombardment commenced, orders had been placed by the Sith heirarchry to produce more ships for the Sith War Machine.

The Republic had declared war against their unknown enemy, seeking to bring stability to the Galaxy....


The Great Sith War had begun...............

Death......

It swept over the oceans. The citizens of the once thriving water-world now floated lifelessly on the waters. It was genocide. The damage had been done.

The initial Sith invading fleet had left, returning to Korriban to prepare for war leaving only the occupation force. They had re-commissioned the Orbital Shipyards under Sith rule, already production on ships had begun, shipping in materials from the many of the Sith's foundaries across the Outer Rim.

A small task force was sent to the planet below, landing of the small amounts of land that were left to salvage anything they could find and destroy any survivors of the massacre.

The occupation was fairly large. The Sith knew that with their newly captured military infastructure, the planet would become a potential target for Republic attack. The republic would seek to attack any Sith infastructure and Mon Calamari was now one of those targets.
